Gorgeous Arniston in the Western Cape is a must-visit and if you’re looking for things to do, here are a few things you have to check out…
Visit the Waenhuiskrans Cave
Th Waenhuiskrans sea cave is one of the main attractions in Arniston. It’s famous for its size and beauty, and you can explore it during low tide. The name “Waenhuiskrans” translates to “Wagon House Cliff” because a wagon and a full span of oxen can supposedly fit inside the cave. How awesome!
Whale Watching in Arniston
Arniston is an excellent place for whale watching, especially during the whale season (June to November). You can often see Southern Right Whales from the shoreline, and there are boat tours available for a closer look.
Check out the Historical Sites
Arniston has a rich history, and you can explore some of this by visiting the old fishing village with its whitewashed cottages. You also shouldn’t miss the Arniston Hotel, which has stood as a landmark for over a century, then learn about the town’s history and the tragic wreck of the Arniston, a British East Indiaman, at the Waenhuiskrans Museum.
