Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier, has officially announced a start date for its Jeddah to Johannesburg route. Here are the details…
Saudia to Johannesburg
Saudia, formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, recently revealed a start date for its Saudi Arabia to Johannesburg route.
The airline announced back in March this year that in order to expand their international flight network, Saudi Air Connectivity Programme (ACP), the Saudi Tourism Authority and Saudia would launch flights to four new destinations around the globe, including Johannesburg, South Africa, Kano in Nigeria, Birmingham in the UK and Beijing, China.
At that time, however, no exact details were given of when the services would actually be launched.
Now, according to Curly Tales, the airline announced that these Johannesburg services will begin on 1 December 2023.
Between 1 December 2023 and 31 January 2024, there will be four weekly flights along the route, using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline will operate the Jeddah to Johannesburg services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, according to the following flight schedule:
- Flight SV449 departs Jeddah at 1:20am and arrives in Johannesburg at 07:35am on Tuesday and Friday.
- Flight SV447 leaves Jeddah at 13:50pm and arrives in Johannesburg at 20:05pm on Saturday and Monday.
- Flight SV448 departs Johannesburg at 8:50am and arrives in Jeddah at 16:45pm on Tuesday and Friday.
- Flight SV446 leaves Johannesburg at 21:40pm and arrives in Jeddah at 05:35am +1 on Saturday and Monday.
