Coco Safar
Why you should visit: The afternoon tea at Coco Safar is certainly one for the bucket list. Described as being a ‘multi-sensory culinary journey that will take you around the world, from Cape Town to Paris, then Istanbul, Shanghai and finally back to Cape Town’ this tea is a multi-chapter sweet and savoury experience. Tea times are Fridays to Sundays between 14:00 and 18:00, and there is a minimum of 48 hours’ notice required on all bookings. Bring a hungry stomach with!

Casa Labia
Why you should visit: Just a little trip out of the city, you’ll find the stunning Casa Labia centre in Muizenberg. The restaurant here offers an exquisite ‘High Tea by the Sea’ experience, featuring a range of sweet and savoury delights, as well as a wide selection of teas. Tea times are weekdays from 11:00 to 17:00, while weekends have a morning session from 11:00 to 13:00 and an afternoon session from 15:00 to 17:00. Bookings are essential.

The Twelve Apostles
Why you should visit: The Twelve Apostles Hotel needs no introduction, but did you know about their fabulous High Tea offerings? High Tea here is served with modern flair on a three-tier stand filled with sweet and savoury treats. Enjoy dainty finger sandwiches, sweet surprises and, of course, the classic teatime treat of scones with jam and whipped cream. There is also a Vegan High Tea option available. Tea times are daily from Monday to Sunday at 10:00, 12.30 and 15:00. A 24 hour pre-booking is required.
