The 48-year-old British adventurer – known for his popular show, Running Wild with Bear Grylls – was in South Africa to deliver a motivational talk about “what it means to persevere and keep your head and heart in check as you climb to the summits in your life” last week.

After addressing “2 000 global entrepreneurs”, Grylls, real name Edward Michael “Bear” Grylls OBE, took to an activity he loves best, mountain climbing.

During his climb with Hassan, the pair bumped into members of the World Scouting Organisation who were half-way up the mountain.
“No surprise there… Scouts are born for adventure!” he said of their meeting, alongside photos and a video of his hike.
