A warning for severe thunderstorms with hail, heavy downpours, and damaging winds was issued for TODAY in these parts of South Africa.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL ARE EXPECTED ON FRIDAY
According to VoxWeather, a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with possible damaging winds is expected over the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape and the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

The SA Weather Service (SAWS) said the weather conditions are expected on Friday afternoon.
THE SAWS WARNED THAT LOCALISED FLOODING IS POSSIBLE
It warned that localised flooding of settlements, low-lying roads, and bridges is possible, as well as localised damage to infrastructure.
“Severe lightning can possibly result in localised fire incidents and injuries to humans and livestock. Difficult driving conditions could lead to minor vehicle accidents and localised damage is possible due to hail.”

“Take caution or avoid traveling on bridges and roads in low-lying areas as these may be susceptible to flooding and there may be sinkholes.
“Avoid outdoor activities, as lightning and flooding may result in injuries and death. Avoid being in an open field, as there may be flying debris. Stay indoors well clear of windows, shelter pets, and cover vehicles.”
