South Africa has fast become one of the world’s tourist hotspots thanks to its hotels and lodges, which offer luxury capped with royalty.

No doubt, South Africa has fast become the playground of the rich and famous, thanks to its many 5-star hotels and Safari lodges dotted around the country.
According to the New World Wealth Report by Henley and Partners, several South African hotels and game lodges have been listed as playgrounds for high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).
According to the report, South Africa has around 140 000 high-net-worth individuals who travel widely across Africa.

However, on the other hand, more than 300 000 millionaires from Europe flock to Africa for vacations.
The report has it that several high-net-worth families’ top destinations in Africa include:
- Cairo – Egypt
- Livingston – Zambia
- Marrakech – Morocco
- Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya
- Okavango Delta – Botswana
- Serengeti National Park – Tanzania
- Sharm el-Sheikh -Egypt
- Etosha National Park – Namibia

The Oyster Box – South Africa
Topping the list of hotels and lodges for the rich in SA is The Oyster Box Hotel, which boasts supreme luxury and is located along the Umhlanga beachfront in Durban where it overlooks the Indian Ocean. Its most expensive room is the Presidential Suite which costs around R90 000 a night.

Ellerman House – South Africa
The Ellerman House suites are located in Bantry Bay, Cape Town, Western Cape. An interesting fact is that the hotel only has 13 rooms making it a hotspot for the highest bidders. The hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the most expensive room at the Ellerman House Suites costs R32 000 to R40 000 a night.

POPULAR SAFARI LODGES FOR THE RICH IN SA
Singita Ebony and Londolozi Safari lodges were also listed among famous Safari lodges popular with high-net-worth individuals.
Singita Ebony Lodge
Also on the list of hotels and lodges for the rich in SA is the Singita Safari Lodge. Located in Mpumalanga, the lodge is best known for its family suites that cost between R103 543 and R121 188 a night.
Londolozi
Londolozi is located in Skukuza, Mpumalanga, which is famous for its Private Granite Suite – priced between R37 450 and R46 813 a night.
