The Easter weekend is already upon us and if you’re looking for fun Easter events for the whole family, look no further! Here are a few to check out around SA.
The upcoming Easter weekend will be filled with hot cross buns, pickled fish and easter hunts. Take a look at some entertainment options in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town for the entire family to enjoy.

EASTER EVENTS IN JOHANNESBURGÂ
‘EASTER MAGIC’ AT MELROSE ARCHÂ
Melrose Arch will be hosting an Easter Magic event on Sunday 17 April. The kids will keep busy with an exciting Easter egg hunt on the middle level of the mall. There will also be photo opportunities for the kids with the White Rabbit.
The Easter egg hunt will kick off at 13:00 and entrance is free.Â
EASTER NIGHT MARKET
The German Club Edenvale will be hosting an Easter Night Market on Thursday 14 April. There will be entertainment for the entire family including a drumming circle and stalls selling jewelry, food and drinks.
Entry for the Easter Night Market is R20 per person. There will be an ATM on-site, as the vendors will not be accepting cards.Â
DELICIOUS LUNCH WITH THE FAMILYÂ
Avianto in Muldersdrift, just outside of Johannesburg, will be hosting family picnics from Friday 15 April to Monday 18 April. The stunning restaurant will also be hosting a buffet lunch on Sunday 17 April for the entire family.
The family picnic will be R250 per adult and R120 per child. The buffet lunch will be R425 per adult and R180 per child.
EASTER EGG HUNT IN JOHANNESBURG SOUTH
Super slides, pools, jumping castles and a market await at the Easter Egg Hung event on Saturday 16 April in Johannesburg South. There will also be a braai area, DJs and a bar available.
Attendees will be able to bring in cooler boxes for R150 per cooler box.
Tickets are available R60 for adults and R90 for kids.
EASTER EVENTS IN DURBANÂ
EASTER FILM FESTIVAL
The Rhumbelow Theatre in Umbilo, Durban will be hosting a four-day film festival from Thursday 14 April to Monday 18 April. Film lovers can expect films like The Full Monty, The Jungle Book and the live recording of the 1998 musical, Cats.
Tickets are R100 each and picnic basks are allowed. No alcohol will be allowed as there is a bar on the property.

DURBAN CHOCOLATE FESTIVALÂ
Craving something sweet? Then the Durban Chocolate Festival is for you! The three-day festival will kick off on Friday 15 April until Sunday 17 April. Festival-goers can expect chocolate tastings, chocolate-inspired dishes and more.
The event will kick off at 11:00 on all three days.

DLALA THUKZIN’S ‘ONE MAN CONCERT’
Local producer and DJ, Dlala Thukzin, will be hosting his first-ever, One Man Concert at the Berea Rovers Club on Friday 15 April. The likes of Kabza De Small, DJ Tira, Babes Wodumo and Dladla Msunqisi are set to perform.

COLOUR FEST SA
Colour Fest SA is set to take place at Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday 16 April. The event will kick off at 12pm and all attendees must wear a white t-shirt.

EASTER EVENTS IN CAPE TOWNÂ
EASTER HUNT AT SPIER WINE FARM
On Sunday 17 April the kids will be able to run around Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch in search of Easter Bunny clues. Once the kids find all five stickers, they will be reawarded with a parcel with Easter goodies.
Tickets are R150 per child and the hunt kicks off at 09:00.

LIVE MUSIC AT THE DAISY JONES BAR
The Nomadic Orchestra and Johannesburg-based rock band Wonderboom will be performing at The Daisy Jones Bar at Summerhill Estate on Saturday 16 April. The performance will kick off at 17:00.

WEEKEND OF FUN AT RHEBOKSKLOOF WINE ESTATE
The Rhebokskloof Wine Estate in Paarl will be hosting a weekend of fun with several activities for the kids to enjoy. They can look forward to a Magic Show Easter Egg Hung and a Petting Zoo.
