Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A.Yellow Level 2 warning: Severe thunderstorms with possible damaging winds, large hail and lightning leading to localized structural damages and a risk to humans and livestock as well as heavy downpours, resulting in flooding for susceptible roads, formal and informal settlements is expected over central limpopo and Mpumalanga.
B.Orange Level 5 warning: Severe thunderstorms with possible damaging winds, large amounts of small hail and lightning leading to localized structural damages and a risk to humans and livestock as well as heavy downpours, resulting in reduced visibility, slippery roads and poor driving conditions over the eastern areas of Limpopo. On these areas significant flooding is expected on susceptible roads, low-lying bridges formal and informal settlements.
C.Yellow level 2 warning for damaging wind leading to difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Alexander Bay and Hermanus, subsiding from the north from towards noon.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern parts and Kamiesberg municipality of Northern Cape as well as the City of Cape Town of the Western Cape.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the Lowveld where it will be warm.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the east.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the eastern part.
Free State:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers in the east, otherwise isolated, except in the extreme west.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Partly cloudy in the east, otherwise fine and warm to hot.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Fine in the west , otherwise cloudy to partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot in places over the West Coast. It will become fine from the north by the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light and variable east of Still Baai, otherwise fresh to strong south-easterly to easterly but gale force between Cape Columbine and Hermanus from the evening.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Cloudy in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm in the north.
The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly, becoming easterly towards the afternoon.
The Eastern half -Partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered south of the escarpment where it will be cloudy.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming easterly from late afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-easterly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
