Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A.Yellow level 2 warning for Severe Thunderstorms with possible heavy downpours, large amount of small hail and strong wind leading to localised flooding of low lying bridges, settlement and roads, damage to infrastructure are expected over the interior of Namakwa (NORTHERN-Cape), central and eastern parts of the Western Cape, Central and western parts of the Eastern Cape,Free State, northern parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga Highveld, and western parts of KZN.
B.Orange level 5 warning for Severe thunderstorms with possible damage or loss of infrastructure, settlement (formal and informal), damage on property and vehicles, roads flooding resulting in some closure of some bridges and roads are expected over the southern interior of Namakwa of Northern-Cape and northern parts of the Western Cape, southern Gauteng, north and eastern Free State as well as the south-western Highveld of Mpumalanga.

ADVISORIES:
A.Disruptive rainfall which could lead to localized flooding is expected on Monday over Joe Gqabi DM, Chris Hani. DM (excluding Inxuba.. yethemba and Enoch Mgijima LM’s ), Mhlontlo, King Sabata Dalindyebo and Matetiele LM’s.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the south. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the Lowveld where it will be hot in places.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with afternoon isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-west.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
Free State:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool to warm with widespread showers and thundershowers.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy along the south coast with isolated showers and rain, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with widespread showers and thundershowers.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light northerly along the west coast but strong south-easterly in the south-west.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Partly cloudy and cool with scattered thundershowers.
The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light southwesterly, becoming moderate north easterly from late morning.
The Eastern half -Cloudy and cool with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light southwesterly, becoming moderate north easterly in the afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool but warm in the extreme north-east with widespread showers and thundershowers in the west, otherwise scattered but isolated in the extreme north-east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light south-westerly in the extreme south at first, otherwise moderate easterly to north-easterly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
