Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A Yellow Level 1 Warning for Damaging Waves resulting in localised disruptions to beachfront activities such as rock angling, is expected from late Saturday night throughout Sunday between Alexander Bay and Cape Agulhas.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the interior of the Namakwa (N.Cape) and some places in the northern areas of the Northern Cape.
ADVISORIES:
A. A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the Beaufort West municipality (W.Cape) and over the Khai-Ma Municipality (N.Cape) until Sunday (15/01/2023).
B. Extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected over the Beaufort West municipality (W.Cape) and over the Khai-Ma Municipality (N.Cape) until Sunday (15/01/2023).

Gauteng:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Cloudy with morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but in the Lowveld.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Cloudy in the east with morning fog along the southern escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers in the north.
North-West Province:
Temperature: fine and hot.
Free State:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and hot to very hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south but fine in the north west.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Fine and very hot to extremely hot, becoming partly cloudy in the south.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to southeasterly becoming fresh to strong the afternoon.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy along the south coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, but very hot over the north-eastern interior where there will be very isolated thunderstorms. It will be fine in the west.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly north of Cape Point, reaching strong from late morning, otherwise light to moderate southerly to south-easterly.

Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Partly cloudy and warm to hot, but cloudy along the coast and adjacent interior. Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected in places in the eastern interior.
The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate southerly to southwesterly.
The Eastern half – Cloudy along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers, but showers and rain along the coast.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate easterly to southeasterly.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and hot, but very hot in the north.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly, becoming gentle southerly in the extreme south in the afternoon.
