Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
1.An orange level 6 warning for disruptive rain leading to flooding of settlements, roads and bridges as well as disruption to livelihoods is expected along the eastern coast and adjacent interior of the Eastern Cape.
2. A yellow level 4 warning for disruptive rain leading to flooding of settlements, roads and bridges as well as disruption to livelihoods is expected over the central and eastern parts of the Eastern Cape and the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
3. A yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rain leading to localised flooding of susceptible settlements, roads, low-lying areas, and bridges is expected over the Eastern Cape, except in the west, and the extreme southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
4. A yellow level 2 warning for damaging waves resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay in the morning.
5. A yellow level 2 warning for winds resulting in localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes are expected over the southern parts of Namakwa District of Northern Cape and the Central Karoo and Cape Winelands of the Western Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
1. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Ga-segonyana local municipality of the Northern Cape and the western and central parts of the North West.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Morning fog over the Highveld and along escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south. It will be cloudy in the east.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Cloudy in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine to partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the north-east.
Free State:
Temperature: Morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Fine in the west, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east but cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers in the south-east. It will be windy in places over the southern interior.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong south-easterly.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Fine and cool over the western parts, otherwise cloudy to partly cloudy, windy and cold with isolated showers and rain but scattered along the south coast.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Cool along the coast, otherwise cloudy and cold with scattered showers and rain, but widespread along the coast east of Gqeberha. Light snowfall is expected along the Sneeuberg Mountains.
The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly.
The Eastern half -is expected over the southern Drakensberg, where it will be very cold.
The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly, but south-westerly in places.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south. Widespread showers and thundershowers are expected along the south coast.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly to southerly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
