Severe weather alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A. Yellow Level 2 Warning for Disruptive Rain leading to localised flooding and mudslides are expected over the Overberg District Municipality of Western Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
A. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern and eastern parts of Northern Cape, Free State and North-West, western and south-western parts of Limpopo, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal excluding the coast and its adjacent interior and the extreme north-eastern parts of Eastern Cape.
ADVISORIES:
A. Heatwave conditions resulting in persistently high temperatures exceeding average maximum is expected over the North-West, Free State, Gauteng, Highveld of Mpumalanga, central and western parts of Limpopo as well as Frances Baard District municipality in the Northern Cape until Sunday. Under this condition, a prolong exposure to the sun poses health risks, hence, is advisable to seek shades and keep hydrated.

Gauteng
Temperature: Fine and hot.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme
Mpumalanga
Temperature: Fine and hot, but very hot in the Lowveld.
Limpopo
Temperature: Fine and hot to very hot.
North West
Temperature: Fine and hot to very hot. It will be windy in the extreme south-west.
Free State
Temperature: Fine in the central and eastern parts until early afternoon, otherwise partly cloudy and hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme south-east. It will be windy over the central and western parts.
Northern Cape
Temperature: Cloudy in the west and south-west, otherwise partly cloudy and hot to very hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-east, where it will be warm. It will be windy over the east and the south-east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape
Temperature: Warm over the north-western interior, otherwise cloudy and cool to cold with rain in the central and eastern parts, becoming partly cloudy in the west during the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Fresh to strong south-easterly becoming moderate along the south-coast in the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
Eastern Cape
The Western half: Cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread along the coast and adjacent interior.
The Western half – The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly.
The Eastern half: Cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread over the extreme south-western parts.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly.
KwaZulu-Natal
Temperature: Partly cloudy warm to hot, but very hot in places over the interior with with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the north-east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly, becoming moderate south-westerly, freshening in the afternoon while spreading northwards.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
