Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A. Yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms leading to heavy downpours, hail, strong winds and localized flooding, is expected over Gauteng, eastern parts of the North West, eastern parts of the Free State, extreme south-western and south-eastern Limpopo, as well as the western and eastern parts of Mpumalanga.
B. Yellow Level 2 warning for Damaging winds resulting in localised damage to infrastructure and settlements, some disruptions to harbours/ports as well as difficulty in navigation, between Plettenberg Bay and East London.
C. Yellow Level 2 warning for Damaging waves are expected, due to very rough seas resulting in difficulty in navigation, localised disruption to small harbours/ports and localised disruption to beachfront activities, from Plettenberg Bay to Wavecrest.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool on the Highveld with scattered showers and thundershowers from the morning, spreading to the escarpment and Lowveld from the afternoon where it will be warm to hot.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot, but cloudy and cool in the south-west with scattered showers and thundershowers, spreading to the central and eastern parts by the afternoon but isolated in the north in the evening.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to warm, with scattered thundershowers, but isolated in the west.
Free State:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Fine over the central and eastern parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme north-east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south to south-easterly.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy with light rain over the south-west and south coastal areas in the morning otherwise partly cloudy and cool.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Cloudy in places in the north at first, otherwise fine and cool becoming cloudy with isolated light showers along the south coast and adjacent interior, west of Cannon Rocks from midday.
The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong to gale force south-westerly.
The Eastern half – Cloudy and cool with isolated chance of light rain south of the eastern escarpment.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly becoming strong to near gale in the afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Partly cloudy to cloudy and cool but warm in places in the north with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the south-west.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate northerly to north-easterly north of Richards Bay at first, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.
