A new Switzerland Tourism advertisement featuring Trevor Noah and Roger Federer, who are both of South African descent, promotes travelling by train in Switzerland.Â
Tourism Switzerland touches on the South African heritage of the two international icons in its latest material which promotes tourism in Switzerland.

TOURISM TO SWITZERLAND
The Swiss Tourism agency’s new ad features Noah and Federer taking a train bound for Interlaken, a city in Switzerland. Mistakenly, the two international celebs climb onto the wrong train.
The ad then turns to emphasize all things Swiss while also emphasizing the South African heritage of the two men. Â Â

SWITZERLAND TOURISM AD
According to Upworthy, the advertisement plays like a mini-documentary of Noah and Federer filming a tourism ad, which does not go to plan. The ensuing journey highlights Swiss punctuality and stunning natural landscapes.
Swiss values such as honesty, integrity, and kindness feature alongside elements of humour and candour.

FAMOUS SOUTH AFRICANS
South Africa rightly lays claim to Trevor Noah and Roger Federer as its own since both men with international fame are in fact also South African citizens.
Noah and Federer are half Swiss and half South African since both men have Swiss fathers and South African mothers.
TREVOR NOAH
Trevor Noah is a comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and former television host. He was the host of The Daily Show, an American late-night talk show and satirical news program on Comedy Central, from 2015 to 2022.
Noah was born in Johannesburg in 1984. His father Robert is of Swiss-German ancestry, and his mother, Patricia Nombuyiselo Noah, is Xhosa.

ROGER FEDERER
Roger Federer is a former professional tennis player of international fame. He was born in Switzerland in 1981.
Roger’s Swiss-German father, Robert Federer, is from Berneck in the canton of St. Gallen and his mother, Lynette Federer (née Durand), is from Kempton Park in Johannesburg.
Since Federer’s mother is South African, he holds both Swiss and South African citizenship.
