A slight chance of SNOWFALL is expected TODAY in several parts of South Africa.
THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SNOWFALL TODAY AND TOMORROW
According to Lesotho Meteorological Services, there is a slight possibility of snowfall expected on Sunday and Monday.

It is worth noting that this is an early prediction, and weather conditions could change.
“Partly cloudy and cool to cold in the lowlands but cold in the highlands. There is a 40% chance of thunderstorms. There is also a slight possibility of snowfall.”

THIS IS AN EARLY PREDICTION AHEAD OF THE WEEKEND
As usual, when snowfall in Lesotho, some of the high peaks in the surrounding areas, such as Underberg, Sanipass, Clarens, and the Swartberg, also get snow dust.

Last month, the first SNOW of the year was reported in several parts of the country.
LOOK AS THE FIRST SNOWFALL WAS CONFIRMED NOW
Here is where snow was reported:
- Southern Drakensberg area
- Bushmans Nek area near Underberg
- Ugie in the Eastern Cape
Meanwhile, the SA Weather Service (SAWS) has released the weather forecast for Mpumalanga today, 7 May, and the province can expect to see a cloudy day with rain and thundershowers in some areas.
A yellow level 2 weather warning has also been issued for the province.

THE LEVEL 2 WARNING IS IN PLACE FOR TODAY
The highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga are expected to experience severe thunderstorms that will result in damaging winds, larger amounts of small hail, and flash flooding.
This will impact formal and informal settlements as well as roads, which are at risk of localised flooding.
Furthermore, properties may experience localised damage due to excessive lightning and large amounts of small hail.
Strong damaging winds may also cause damage to infrastructure, settlements, properties, and vehicles.
