Charles Osborne (USA, 1894-1991) was the victim of the longest attack of hiccups, which lasted a jaw-dropping 68 years.
Charles Osborne (USA, 1894-1991) started hiccoughing in 1922 while attempting to weigh a hog before slaughtering it.
He could not find a cure, but led a normal life in which he had two wives and fathered eight children. He continued until morning in February 1990.
There is a Guinness World Record for the longest hiccup attack and it was held by Charles Osborne. He hiccuped continuously for 68 years, from 1922 to 1990.
