Local airline, FlySafair, has just launched a convenient new feature: WhatsApp check-in! Here’s what it entails…
Convenient check-in with FlySafair
FlySafair says travellers will now be able to search for bookings and check-in for their flights directly on the airline’s WhatsApp business account.
According to FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kirby Gordon, the new WhatsApp features are just some of the many ways the airline is utilizing to create a frictionless travel experience from booking to arrival.
“By adding these new services, we’re able to offer our passengers more choice when it comes to their journey.” Gordon said.
Gordon added that the booking management features will be especially useful for passengers in areas where internet connectivity is low, something which can cause app or website time out more often.
“Where Internet access proves to be less reliable, passengers can bypass the website and app to easily search their flight details and check in via WhatsApp, ensuring complete peace of mind before arriving at the airport.” Gordon stated.
Check-in on WhatsApp: How?
According to Tourism Update, these are the steps passengers need to take in order to successfully check-in on WhatsApp:
- First send a message to the FlySafair business account on 087 357 0030.
- Say ‘Hi’ to bring up the menu with all the different options.
- Select option two for check-in
- Follow the prompts to receive the boarding pass via WhatsApp.
- To review a booking, select option one and follow the message prompts to pull up the flight details.
The airline disclosed that travellers would also be able to add a bag to an existing booking as well as buy food vouchers through the communication App quite soon.
“These new features build on the airline’s existing suite of WhatsApp services, which include the sending of boarding passes after check-in via the website or app, as well as direct messaging capabilities with the airline’s customer service agents.” Gordon finished.
