Belgium’s carrier Air Belgium will soon begin scheduled flights to and from Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa, making connection between the two countries easier than ever.
Th airline will soon be operating flights to and from the Johannesburg and Cape Town hubs in September this year. The services will be a seasonal one, running from 14 September 2022 to 25 March 2023.
Tourism Update reports that Air Belgium will operate two scheduled flights a week from Brussels to Johannesburg, and then two to Cape Town. One Cape Town flight will be direct, the other will be linked to the Johannesburg flight.
What’s on offer on Air Belgium?
According to the airline’s website, the South African route will use an A330-900neo aircraft, which is an eco-friendly option – given its lower fuel consumption, which means less carbon and nitrogen emitted into the atmosphere.
On board, passengers will find three cabin classes: Business, Premium and Economy. Business class offers 30 lie-flat seats, gourmet dining and a 46cm HD screen. The centre aisle also promises ‘honeymoon seats’, which are separated by a retractable sliding partition.
Premium class offers a leg up on economy, with 21 seats with greater recline and more leg room than economy. Each of these seats also have a 30cm HD screen. Economy class has 235 seats, also offering a 30cm HD screen.
All three cabins are equipped to entertain passengers during flights, with up to 120 films including documentaries, cartoons and TV series, 600 music tracks and games for all ages.
Luggage allowances include two pieces of checked-in baggage up to 32kg each for Business class, two pieces of checked-in baggage up to 30kg each for Premium class and one piece of checked-in baggage up to 30kg for Economy class.
