Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A.Yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rainfall leading to localised flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads, low-lying areas and bridges as well as difficult driving conditions on dirt roads is expected over the central parts of North-West, Free State and southern Gauteng.
B. Orange level 5 warning for disruptive rainfall leading to localised flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads, low-lying areas and bridges as well as difficult driving conditions on dirt roads is expected over the eastern parts of North-West and Free State.
C. Yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding and localised damages to property is expected over the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
Extremely high fire conditions are expected over the Khai-Ma, the Kai !Garib, Kareeberg and Ubuntu local municipalities of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in southwest

Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and rain.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and rain but widespread in the west.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Cloudy and warm, with widespread showers and thundershowers but partly cloudy with scattered in the west.
Free State:
Temperature: Cloudy with morning fog patches in the extreme east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread over the central and the eastern parts. It will be isolated in the west.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Fine and hot to very hot in the west otherwise partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool with rain over the central and southern parts from mid-morning, spreading to the north-eastern interior by evening. It will be fine and hot in the west but warm in the south-west where it will be partly cloudy at first.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh south-easterly in the south but strong south to south-easterly in the west and south-west.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but cloudy and cool with scattered showers and rain in the south.
The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate south westerly in places in the morning, otherwise south easterly.
The Eastern half -Morning fog patches in places south of the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers from the afternoon.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate south westerly, becoming south easterly from the south in the afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm but hot in places in the north-east. It will become cloudy in the afternoon with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north-east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh easterly to north-easterly.
