The SA weather service has claimed that temperatures will reach close to 40 degrees in parts of the Western Cape this week.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an Extreme Discomfort Advisory for the Western Cape on Monday, 9 January.
The weather advisory is valid from 8:00 on Monday until 20:00 on Tuesday, 10 January. The northeastern interior of the province is expected to be affected by the sweltering conditions.
“Very hot temperatures will result in very uncomfortable conditions over the northeastern interior of the WC.
“Temperatures reaching close to 40 degrees Celsius are likely to occur in places,” said the weather service.
As previously reported, the weather service typically advises residents of the affected areas to avoid prolonged direct exposure to the sun and keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
