TAAG will soon begin flights between Durban and Luanda

New route alert: Angolan carrier TAAG has announced that it will soon begin flights between Luanda and Durban next month.

TAAG to take off

TAAG Angola Airline, the state-owned airline and flag carrier of Angola recently announced that it will begin flights between its home base Luanda and Durban from 17 November 2022. 

The route will offer three weekly flights, scheduled to depart Luanda on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, reports Travel News. The route will make use of a B737-700, configured in two classes – business and economy.

TAAG also announced that it would begin flights between Luanda and Accra from 9 November 2022, scheduled to depart from Luanda on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

In other news, Dubai-based airline Emirates will ramp up its flights to and from South Africa by adding extra services to Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Durban will receive two more flights, making it a daily operation which will start out from 1 December 2022.

Cape Town will then be served with double daily services starting from 1 February 2023.

The airlines’ second daily service to Cape Town will depart Dubai at 09:10, landing at 16:45. It will then depart Cape Town at 13:25, arriving in Dubai at 01:10 the next day.

Lastly, the Johannesburg route will expand with three daily flights from 1 March 2023.

Flight EK 767 from Dubai to Johannesburg will operate with a Boeing 777 aircraft. The flight will depart at 23:25, arriving at 05:35 the next day. The return flight will depart Johannesburg at 22:20 and arrive in Dubai at 08:20 the next day.

The third daily flight from Johannesburg will help meet high demand with more than 300 available seats each way.
