More flights mean more tourism! British Airways is set to offer 24 weekly flights from London to Cape Town this summer season.
The city of Cape Town is getting ready for a smashing summer season, with more flights between London and the Mother City promising an influx of UK tourists. The city is expecting 24 flights a week from London, from both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
According to Cape Town Etc, British Airways is set to resume its London-Gatwick to Cape Town from 13 December until 25 March 2023, with three weekly flights on the Boeing 777-200. British Airways will also double its frequency on the London-Heathrow route, introducing a second daily flight from 13 November until 25 March 2023 on an Airbus A350-1000.
Virgin Atlantic is also set to resume its daily London-Heathrow to Cape Town flight on 5 November.
These two airlines’ increased frequencies will result in a total of 24 weekly flights between the United Kingdom and Cape Town during the South African summer season, which is a much-needed boost for tourism in the country.

Mayoral Member for Economic Growth and Tourism at the City of Cape Town, James Vos said in a tweet on Monday that he was happy to share the good news that from November there will be a total of 24 flights per week between Cape Town and UK for the summer season.
In other Cape Town tourism news, a newly launched marketing campaign from Cape Town and the Western Cape is also setting out to attract US travellers to the province. The campaign, fondly called the ‘Neverending Tourists’ campaign, focuses on highlighting the beauty and wonder of the Western Cape and Cape Town for US travellers, through the eyes of US expats who came to the Cape and never left.
