Air China planning a return to South African skies

Air China to start 132 flights per week

While the starting date and schedules are still unknown, Air China is indeed planning a return to South Africa very soon. The airline recently announced that they would soon be scheduling 132 flights per week to 52 destinations, according to aviation website Simpleflying.

Air China is set to connect to Johannesburg from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) three times a week, using a Boeing 777-300 ER on the route.

Other new routes the airline plans to introduce are between Chongqing and Ho Chi Minh, as well as Chongqing and Budapest.

According to Simpleflying, the airline also plans to reintroduce routes that were put on pause because of COVID-19. These include:

  • Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to Singapore (SIN)
  • Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to Jakarta (CGK)
  • Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to Los Angeles (LAX)
  • Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to Vancouver (YVR)
  • Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to Toronto (YYZ)
  • Hangzhou (HGH) to Rome (FCO)
