Addo Elephant National Park is renowned for its large elephant population, and one of the main attractions is watching these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

You can embark on guided game drives or self-drive through the park to encounter elephants up close. Viewing areas and hides are strategically placed for optimal elephant sightings.

Take a game drive at Addo

In addition to elephants, Addo is also home to a variety of other wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, zebras and various antelope species.

Join a guided game drive with a knowledgeable ranger to explore the park and spot these animals. Early morning and late afternoon drives are often the best times for wildlife sightings.

Hiking and Walking Trails

For a more immersive experience, consider taking one of the walking trails within the park.

The Alexandria Hiking Trail and Zuurberg Hiking Trail offer opportunities to explore the diverse flora and fauna of Addo Elephant National Park on foot, with the guidance of experienced rangers. Keep an eye out for smaller animals, insects and lots of plant life along the way.
