The Kruger National Park ranger revealed on social media that the tourists broke the rules and endangered their lives by opening their car doors to take pictures and videos of lions.
According to SANParks, guests entering national parks are required to sign documents indemnifying SANParks against any claim, action, judgment, costs, and or expenses which may be made against SANParks. Visitors are also advised to stay in their vehicles at all times.
“In most of the national parks, there is a possible threat from dangerous animals. In such parks, guests may only alight from vehicles in designated areas. No part of your body may protrude from a window or sunroof and doors should remain closed at all times.”

@tembo_shephard: “Reminds me of the woman a few years back who was killed by a lioness when she opened her window to photograph it when it was at rest. Lioness reared up and reached for her through the window. A quick maul, and in those 10 seconds the tourist was fatally injured.”
