The Kruger National Park ranger revealed on social media that the tourists broke the rules and endangered their lives by opening their car doors to take pictures and videos of lions.

According to SANParks, guests entering national parks are required to sign documents indemnifying SANParks against any claim, action, judgment, costs, and or expenses which may be made against SANParks. Visitors are also advised to stay in their vehicles at all times.

“In most of the national parks, there is a possible threat from dangerous animals. In such parks, guests may only alight from vehicles in designated areas. No part of your body may protrude from a window or sunroof and doors should remain closed at all times.”

TWEEPS REACT KRUGER NATIONAL PARK PIC

@Ishy09457997: “I love wildlife with all my heart and Pilanesburg is 10 minutes from my hometown but I’ve never been inside only because of this. Animals are in predictable.”

@ThatoCyberSpace: “So if they get attacked do they blame you rangers?”

@nordienmn: “In sha Allah they will get what they deserve and provide us with good Twitter content!”

@AndrewB44177242: “I understand the desperation to get that shot, we have to forgive tourists on occasion. It’s the one and only chance they will have to see what we take for granted.”

@tembo_shephard: “Reminds me of the woman a few years back who was killed by a lioness when she opened her window to photograph it when it was at rest. Lioness reared up and reached for her through the window. A quick maul, and in those 10 seconds the tourist was fatally injured.”
