Hot and happening: Exciting events in Durban this weekend

Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? Here are some really cool events happening in Durban from 5 to 7 May 2023.

Health in Motion at Mitchell Park

What: Spend a day outdoors this weekend at the Health in Motion park day at Mitchell Park. It’s free for all and you can explore and understand the different health issues and attend Zumba in the Park, grab a complimentary smoothie and enjoy fun and games with giveaways.

When: Saturday, 6 May 2023, from 9:30 to 13:00

Where: Mitchell Park,10 Ferndale Rd, Morningside, Durban.

Seeing Auschwitz guided tour

What: Take in some history this weekend at a guided tour of photo exhibition ‘Seeing Auschwitz’. The exhibition presents more than 100 images of victims and perpetrators, as well as snapshots of the systematic extermination process and scenes of everyday life in Auschwitz

“Seeing Auschwitz uses analysis of the scarce photographic evidence of the camp that has survived to the present day as well as the process of the construction of the collective memory of Auschwitz and other contemporary genocides”. Entry is free to all.

When: Sunday, 7 May 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00

Where: Durban Holocaust & Genocide Centre, 44 KE Masinga Rd, Stamford Hill, Durban.

Monster Jam Durban edition

What: Monster Jam has returned to South Africa and Durban is in for a show this weekend! Get ready to witness heated rivalries, high-flying stunts and fierce head-to-head battles with this ultimate off-road, motorsport competition. If you haven’t yet gotten your tickets, no worries – book them here fast.

When: Saturday, 6 May 2023, from 16:00 to 18:00

Where: Moses Mabhida Stadium, 44 Isaiah Ntshangase Road, Durban.
