Virgin Atlantic upping their game

After around three years in development, Virgin Atlantic has finally unveiled their newest fleet addition: the Airbus 330-900neo. With this new aircraft, the airline plans to personalize every customer’s trip, with emphasis on its premium business cabin, Upper Class, as well as onboard social spaces.

The Airbus A330-900neo will feature the latest generation Upper Class cabin, including a brand-new seat, a revamped social space and two exclusive suites. The Retreat Suite, in particular, is a new innovation in the Upper Class offering, consisting of two suites at the front of the cabin. It happens to be the airline’s most spacious suite so far, with a two-metre seat that folds into a bed and a 68cm touchscreen TV with Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging.

The aircraft will also offer 30 new Upper Class suites and a social space, called ‘The Loft’, which has four seats and holds up to eight people. There is something for everyone, as well, as passengers will have the choice between 28 Economy Delight seats and 156 Economy Classic seats. Economy seats will have upgraded seating fabric and larger 33cm display screens, the largest yet in Virgin Atlantic economy service.

Those travelling in Premium and Upper Class will have in-seat wireless charging, and passengers in every cabin will have access to USB connections, Bluetooth-enabled entertainment systems and Wi-Fi.

The new planes are designed to be 13% more fuel and carbon efficient than the A330-300s they will replace, with a 50% reduction in airport noise exposure, reports Fortune Magazine.

Flights on board the new aircraft are expected to start in early October, and tickets will go on sale later this July.
