The fabulous and famous Stellenbosch Wine Harvest Parade returns to the Winelands this April.
Returning on 9 April after two long years, the beloved parade promises to be as spectacularly festive, if not more, as it has always been.
The parade is a merry procession of wine farmers, workers and wine-lovers that walk the streets of Stellies, atop fantastic floats whilst donning colourful outfits. It celebrates and signifies the end of another productive and bounteous wine grape season.
According to Tourism Update, the parade plans to begin at 9:00 on Saturday morning, starting out at the Toy and Miniature Museum and arriving 30 minutes later at the Stellenbosch Town Hall. At the Town Hall, the mayor will then hand out awards and the prize for the best float, as well as the parade’s most spirited team.
After a short ceremony to give thanks, the parade will then continue on its way through the streets of Stellenbosch. Participants will also be treated to a braai, live music, and refreshments, with special entertainment available for all kids attending the festival.
The Parade is supported by the region’s wineries, wine route organisation, Wesgro and Stellenbosch Municipality. No bookings are required to attend the parade, just grab your family and friends and enjoy an exciting day out in the Winelands!
