Town and Road Lodge hotels to now offer lunch and dinner options

The City Lodge Hotel Group recently announced its plans for their new Eat-in restaurants at all of their Town Lodge and Road Lodge branches.

According to IOL, the hotel group plans to have all the Town and Road Lodges serving daily lunch and dinner options by June 2022.

Five hotels have already trialed the Eat-in concept last year, with six more set to offer lunch and dinner by the end of January 2022. Up until this point, Town and Road Lodges have been known to only serve hot and cold breakfast options to guests. The new Eat-in restaurants will be offering sit-down lunch and dinner service with menus that are tailored to the brand itself as well as location of the properties.

With 13 Town Lodges offering 1 591 rooms and 23 Road Lodges offering 2 272 rooms, guests at these hotels can enjoy their meals at the restaurant itself, at the pool deck or in their rooms.

Lindiwe Sangweni-Siddo, chief operating officer at the City Lodge Hotel Group, said:

“We are delighted to encourage our Town Lodge and Road Lodge guests to enjoy tasty, hearty and wholesome lunch and dinner offerings in the comfort of their own hotel at the new Eat-in restaurants. We have been working on developing an in-house dining option in our two budget-friendly brands that fits our customers’ needs and wants, and the Eat-in restaurant and offering is already proving a winner in the first month since launching.”

Man behind the menu and the group general manager of food and beverage, Chef Trevor Boyd said:

“Hungry guests staying at Town Lodges and Road Lodges can now enjoy our delicious meals served by our people, who are most excited to deliver these new offerings. Menus feature a choice of traditional South African dishes and family favourites. Our Shisa Nyama, chicken and rib meals are by far the most popular dishes on the menu.”
