What’s on? Exciting events in Johannesburg this weekend

Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? Here are some really cool events happening in Johannesburg from 9 to 11 December 2022.

Christmas Makers Club at The Playground Braamfontein

What: Come create your very own Christmas decorations and gift-wrapping accessories at the Christmas Makers Club at The Playground Braamfontein this weekend. You will be provided with all the equipment and materials you need to create beautiful gift-wrapping goods and Christmas decorations for the festive season. Tickets cost R250 per person and includes free entry to the market.

When: Saturday, 10 December 2022, from 10:30 to 13:00

Queertopia in Johannesburg

What: Queertopia is an immersive two day queer-centered, queer-tastic festival that normalises and celebrates all things queer. Tickets cost R180 per person per day. Book them here.

When: Saturday, 10 December and Sunday, 11 December 2022

Where: Victoria Yards, 16 Viljoen St, Lorentzville, Johannesburg.

Sinbad the Sailor at Montecasino, Johannesburg

What: Montecasino is hosting Sinbad the Sailor on their Teatro stage and it promises to be a ‘riotous romp over the Seven Seas’. You will be treated to gloriously colourful sets and costumes that evoke the exotic mystery and magic of the Arabian Nights, and exciting music and dance, inspired by Bollywood. Tickets cost R150 per person and can be booked here.

When: The production runs from Friday, 3 December to Sunday, 18 December 2022

Where: Teatro Montecasino, Montecasino, 1 Montecasino Blvd, Fourways, Johannesburg.
