Good news for those residing in Gauteng! Gautrain is offering 50% off train rides on 14 and 15 January. 

The Gautrain 50% off train service promotion  will take place every month for a trial period, starting the weekend of 14 January 2023 and 15 January 2023. 

RIDE A GAUTRAIN THIS WEEK AND GET AND GET 50% OFF

Passengers will be offered 50% off their train fare during the weekend of the promotion and may travel by train to as many stations as they would like to, excluding OR Tambo International Airport. Standard bus and parking fares will apply. 

Passengers participating in the promotion are also eligible for discounts offered by the participating partners, subject to the terms and conditions below.

Terms and Conditions

  • The promotion is applicable to every second weekend of every month (both Saturday and Sunday).
  • The 50% off train fare discount is applicable only to train fares.
  • Standard parking and bus fares will apply.
  • To participate in the promotion, each passenger is required to be in possession of a valid Gautrain Swift Card or a contactless bank card. Gautrain Swift Cards are available for purchase at all Gautrain stations at a cost of R19 each.
  • Passengers are required to tag in and out using the same card to avoid penalty fees.
  • The promotion does not apply to weekly and monthly products.
  • Passengers must either load value into their Gautrain Swift Card if need be or use their contactless bank card to qualify for the promotion. A minimum value of R16 is required to be loaded on the Gautrain Swift Card.

A special bus service may be made available to the following destinations, during their respective operating hours, subject to these destination’s agreement to participate in this promotion:

Pretoria Zoo

Operating hours are:

Saturdays 09:00 – 16:30 

Sundays 09:00 – 16:30

Up to two kiddies (aged 17 and under) per family enter for free

Bounce – Menlyn Maine

Operating hours are:

Saturdays 09:00 – 19:00

Sundays 09:00 – 18:00
