Events in Cape Town: Exciting events happening this weekend

Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? Here are some really cool events happening in Cape Town from 25 to 27 August 2023.

Pinotage Masterclass

What: Take part in a wine masterclass this weekend and explore the tastes, stories and unique characteristics of Pinotage, South Africa’s hearty red. You will get to taste 10 wines as well as enjoy a delicious cheese board and biltong. Tickets cost R295 per person. Book here.

When: Saturday, 26 August 2023 from 18:00 to 22:00

Where: CT Wine Club – City Bowl, 3 Roodehek St, Gardens.

SAAO Open Night in Cape Town

What: The South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in Cape Town will be hosting their bi-monthly open night and it’s free for all to attend. The Open Night includes a presentation on topics of astronomy or physics as well as an introduction to the historic McClean telescope, the observatory museum and the library. Reserve your free spot here.

When: Saturday, 26 August 2023 from 20:00 to 22:00

Where: SAAO Cape Town, 1 Observatory Rd, Observatory.

Hansel And Gretel Ballet

What: The well-loved fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel gets the ballet treatment this weekend in Cape Town and it’s perfect for the whole family. The show will take place in three acts and be pereformed by the Bellville Dance Academy. Tickets cost R150 per person and can be booked here.

When: Saturday, 26 August 2023, 14:30 to 16:30 and 19:00 to 21:00
