Cape Town and Durban’s King Shaka International Airports were the big winners at the recent Skytrax World Airport Awards.

The awards are considered the benchmark for the world’s airport industry.
Passengers vote for airports in a survey that assesses customer service and facilities across over 500 airports globally.

As reported by The South African website, Cape Town International Airport won the Best Airport in Africa and the Best Airport Staff in Africa awards.
It was the eighth consecutive Best Airport in Africa win for Cape Town International Airport and the third consecutive win for Best Airport staff.

Meanwhile, King Shaka Airport won the award for the Best Regional Airport in Africa
OR Tambo International Airport was the third-best airport in Africa, while Bloemfontein took 10th place.
Overall, Singapore’s Changi airport won the award for the world’s best airport.
