1.A Yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding and localised damages to infrastructure and settlements is expected over western interior of KwaZuluNatal and south-eastern parts of Mpumalanga from the afternoon.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Cool in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east at first with early morning fog patches on the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the Lowveld, except for the Bush-buckridge.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east at first with morning drizzle and fog patches on the escarpment areas, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers from the afternoon.

Free State:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers from the afternoon.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Morning fog along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm but fine in the extreme west. Isolated afternoon isolated showers and thundershowers are expected over the eastern parts.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south to southeasterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Morning fog along the west coast, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm but cloudy in the south.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly but light along the south coast at first.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half –Cool along the coast, otherwsie partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the north and east.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly becoming light to moderate south easterly in the afternoon.

The Eastern half -Cool along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north.

The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly becoming light south-easterly in the afternoon.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm but cool in the south-west. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected but scattered in the west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
