IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

A. Orange Level 6 warning for disruptive rain, which can lead to flash flooding, poor driving conditions, and disruption of municipal services, and some communities can be temporary cut-off over Thabo Mofutsanyana DMs of the Free State.

B. Yellow level 2 for severe storms (heavy rain, hail, damaging wind) -which could lead to localized flooding, disruption of communication services, damage to properties over the southern part of both the Northern Cape and the Free State as well as over northern interior of the Eastern Cape as well as eastern and central interior of the Western Cape

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the extreme south western parts.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the north-east.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the south-western parts.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Free State:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the east and along Lesotho border.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the far southern part.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh northerly to north-westerly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm in the west with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the central and eastern PARTS where it will be cloudy, while cool along the south coast.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light and variable, becoming moderate to fresh south to south-easterly, but strong along the south-west coast, while light west to south-westerly during the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High

Eastern Cape:

The Western half –Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh westerly in the west during the morning, otherwise north easterly, but south easterly in places.

The Eastern half -Cloudy and cool with widespread showers and thundershowers, but scattered along the coast.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north easterly, reaching strong in places.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate easterly to north-easterly, becoming fresh in the afternoon.
