FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

1.Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in the western Bushveld and the Limpopo Valley, the extreme northeastern parts of the Northern Cape, the western and eastern parts of the North West Province as well as the Tswelopele Local Municipality of the Free State.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and hot with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east in the morning with morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the Lowveld, but scattered on the central Highveld.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the south. It will be very hot in the south-western Bushveld.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated thundershowers in the extreme south-east.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Morning mist along the coast where it will be cool, otherwise fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated thunderstorms in the east and south-west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cold along the south coast, otherwise cloudy and cool, but warm over the west coast and interior with isolated showers and thundershowers over the northern and western parts from late morning spreading over the remainder of the interior during the afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly along the south coast, otherwise southerly to south-easterly, becoming fresh north of Saldanha Bay from afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate

Eastern Cape:

The Western half –Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and rain, but scattered along the coast and adjacent interior.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly, reaching strong from the evening.

The Eastern half -Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the north-west where it will be partly cloudy and warm.

The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly, but moderate to fresh easterly south of Kei Mouth.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool but warm in places with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly to southerly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
