Extreme high fire danger conditions are expected over the Northern Cape interior, the north-western interior of the Eastern Cape and the Central Karoo in the Western Cape Districts.
ADVISORIES:
A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in Central and Little Karoo regions in the Western Cape, as well Sarah Baartman District, Inxuba Yethemba and Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipalities from Monday until Wednesday (09-11/01/2023).
Temperature: Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers on the eastern Highveld up to the escarpment.
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the extreme south-east.
Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Temperature: Morning and evening fog along the coast, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but very hot in the west becoming partly cloudy in the east in the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly, becoming south-westerly from the afternoon.
Temperature: Cloudy with fog patches along the south coast, Breede Valley and extreme western parts in the morning and evening, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but very hot in places over the Karoo. It will be partly cloudy over the north-east in the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light and variable in the morning, otherwise light to moderate southerly to south-westerly, but fresh to strong south-easterly along the south-west coast at first.

The Western half – Morning fog in the south, otherwise fine and warm to hot.
The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.
The Eastern half – Morning fog in places in the south, otherwise fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the north-east with isolated thunderstorms along the Lesotho border.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.
Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise fine and warm. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the west.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be gentle to moderate northerly to north-easterly.
