Severe Weather Alerts

IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

1.Yellow level 2 for severe thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding and localised damages to property is expected over the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

1.Extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the Dawid Kruiper and Kai Garib local municipalities of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng:

Temperature:Cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east with morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the Lowveld where it will be warm.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Cloudy and warm isolated showers and thundershowers.

Free State:

Temperature: Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape:

Temperature:Fine in the west, otherwise cool to warm but very hot in the north. It will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy to partly cloudy in the east, otherwise fine and cool to warm with afternoon showers and thundershowers in the north-east and rain along the south coast in the evening.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly to south-easterly but fresh to strong along the west coast.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Partly cloudy and cool to warm, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated over south-west.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly, becoming south-easterly in the afternoon.

The Eastern half -Partly cloudy and cool, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming south-easterly in the afternoon.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Cloudy and warm but cool in places in the west. Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected but scattered in the west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly south of Richards Bay until midday, otherwise moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
