WEATHER: Very cold, wet and windy conditions expected in these parts of Cape provinces

Very cold, wet and windy conditions are expected in places over the southern Namakwa District in the Northern Cape and the interior of Western Cape on Friday and Saturday.

Gauteng

Temperature: Partly cloudy at first, otherwise fine and cool.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Mpumalanga

Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and Cool to warm.

Limpopo

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the east, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

North West

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the east at first, otherwise, fine and cool to warm.

Free State

Temperature: Fine, becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm, with windy conditions Over the western and southern parts.

Northern Cape

Temperature: Windy in the east, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly at first and during the afternoon, otherwise light and variable.

Western Cape

Temperature: Fine and cool in the north-western interior, otherwise cloudy to partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated to scattered rain and showers over the south-western parts. It will be windy over the interior during the afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly east of Cape Agulhas, otherwise fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly becoming fresh to strong westerly to northwesterly from the late morning spreading to the east by the late afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape

The Western half: Fine and cool, but partly cloudy at times along the coast and adjacent interior.

The Western half – The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south westerly.

The Eastern half: Fine and cool becoming cloudy along the coast in the afternoon.

The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong north easterly becoming moderate to fresh south westerly in the morning.

KwaZulu-Natal

Temperature: Fine and warm, but hot in places in the midland, becoming partly cloudy in the south-east in the afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming moderate south-westerly in the south from afternoon, spreading northwards in the evening.
