WEATHER: Parts of South Africa to experience RAIN and showers TODAY

Shorts and slops or an umbrella? Here’s what the weather holds for every province in South Africa on Tuesday, 8 August 2023.

A. A Yellow Level 1 for damaging waves resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea for small vessels and personal watercraft is expected between Alexander Bay and Cape Agulhas on Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

Gauteng

Temperature: Fine and cool.

Mpumalanga

Temperature: Fine and cool, but warm in places in the lowveld

Limpopo

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the east at first, otherwise fine cool to warm.

North West

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.

Free State

Temperature: Fine and cool.

Northern Cape

Temperature: Fine and warm but cool in the south.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly

Western Cape

Temperature: Fine and cool in the north-eastern parts, with fog patches in the morning in places along the west and south coast. It will be cloudy and cold to cool along the south-western coastal areas and adjacent interior with light rain in the morning, spreading to the south coast by afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly but moderate south-westerly in the south at first

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape

The Western half: Cloudy along the south coast, otherwise fine and cool. It will become cloudy in the south by afternoon with isolated showers along the coast and adjacent

The Western half – The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south- westerly.

The Eastern half: Fine and cool, becoming cloudy south of the escarpment by late afternoon with isolated showers in the south from evening.

The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal

Temperature: Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise fine and warm. It will become cloudy from the south in the evening.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly, becoming southerly to south-westerly from the south in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
