Shorts and slops or an umbrella? Here’s what the weather holds for every province in South Africa on Monday, 10 July 2023.
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A. Yellow Level 2 Warning: Waves resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea are expected between Plettenberg Bay and Port Edward.
B. Yellow Level 2 warning: Damaging winds which may lead to small vessels capsizing, difficulty in navigation of small vessels and localised disruption of small harbours/ ports for a short period of time are expected along the coast of KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
C. Yellow Level 2 warning: Disruptive snow leading to dangerous driving conditions, closure of some passes and isolated loss of vulnerable livestock is expected over Dr Beyers Naude (excluding Graaf-Reinet area), Kou-Kamma, Amahlathi, Mhlontlo and Ntabankulu Local Municipalities, as well as the western parts of eThukela, uMgungundlovu and Harry Gwala Districts in KwaZulu-Natal.
D. Orange Level 6 Warning: Disruptive snow that could result in major mountain passes closed, isolate communities and loss of livestock is expected over Chris Hani District Municipality, Senqu, Eundini, Matatiele, Umzimvubu, Raymond Mhlaba and Blue Crane Route, Dr Beyers Naude (Graaf Reinet area) Local Municipalities.
E. Yellow level 2 warning: Disruptive rainfall which may lead to localised flooding expected in the extreme north-east part of KwaZulu-Natal.

ADVISORIES:
The public and farmers are advised that very cold and wet conditions are expected to persist over the south-eastern areas of the Northern Cape, Free State, the interior areas of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. These conditions are expected to spread to Mpumalanga and Gauteng, following the development of a cut-off low over the south- eastern interior.

Temperature: Cloudy and cold to very cold with isolated to scattered showers, except in the extreme west where it will be partly cloudy. Light snow is expected over the escarpment and extreme eastern Highveld.
Temperature: Fine in the south-west, otherwise partly cloudy and cold with isolated to scattered showers. It will become cloudy in the east.
Temperature: Fine and cold.
Temperature: Fine and very cold to cold, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and possible light snow over extreme eastern parts.
Temperature: Morning frost over the interior, otherwise fine and cold to cool, but very cold over the southern parts.
Wind: – The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.
Temperature: Cloudy over the central and eastern parts in the morning, becoming partly cloudy, otherwise fine and cold with morning frost expected.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southwesterly along the south coast, otherwise moderate to fresh south-easterly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
The Western half: Cloudy and very cold with isolated showers of rain, but cold along the south coast. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon. Morning snow is expected on the high ground.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-westerly.
The Eastern half: Cloudy and cold to very cold with isolated showers of rain but scattered along the coast. Disruptive snow is still expected on the high ground.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.
Temperature: Cloudy and cold, but very cold in the Midlands and the western parts with snow expected in the south-western parts. Isolated showers and rain expected but scattered along the coast and adjacent interior.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong to near gale south-westerly.
