IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A. Yellow Level 2 warning: Waves resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea are expected between Alexander Bay and Maputo, subsiding west of East London by the afternoon.
B. Yellow Level 2 warning: Damaging winds which may lead to small vessels capsizing, difficulty in navigation of small vessels and localised disruption of small harbours/ ports for a short period of time are expected along the coast of KZN and the eastern Cape from tomorrow mid-morning into Monday.
C. Yellow Level 2 warning: Disruptive snow leading to dangerous driving conditions, some pass closures and isolated loss of vulnerable livestock is expected over Dr Beyers Naude (excluding Graaf-Reinet area), Kou-Kamma, Amahlathi, Mhlontlo and Ntabankulu LM’s, as well as the western parts of eThukela, uMgungundlovu and Harry Gwala Districts in KwaZulu-Natal.
D. Orange Level 6 Warning: Disruptive snow that could result in major mountain passes closed, isolate communities and loss of livestock is expected over Chris Hani DM, Senqu, Eundini, Matatiele, Umzimvubu LM, Raymond Mhlaba and Blue Crane Route, Dr Beyers Naude (Graaf Reinet area) LM’s 09-10/07/2023.

ADVISORIES:
A. Very cold, wet and windy conditions are expected with the passage of the cold front over the southern parts of both Northern Cape, Free State and the Eastern Cape from tomorrow into Monday, as well as over the south-western parts of KwaZulu-Natal province tomorrow and over the western parts in the Midlands on Monday. The public/ small stock farmers are advised that very cold conditions can be expected.
B. Very cold conditions are expected in places over Gauteng, the Highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga, as well as the central and escarpment areas of Limpopo on Monday (10 July 2023) with light snowfalls possible over the extreme eastern Highveld and on the escarpment of Mpumalanga.

Temperature: Fine and cool but cold over the Highveld. It will become cloudy in the east in the evening with isolated to scattered showers.

Temperature: Fine in the north-east, otherwise partly cloudy, windy and very cold to cold, with possible light snow over extreme south and the eastern part.

Wind: – The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh west to south-westerly.
Temperature: Cloudy and cold but very cold over the high lying areas. Isolated showers are expected in the south-west with scattered along the south coast, becoming partly cloudy over the west. Light snowfalls can be expected over the mountainous areas.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
The Western half: Cloudy and very cold with widespread showers of rain along the South Coast otherwise scattered showers of rain with snow on the high ground.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Fresh south westerly becoming moderate southerly in the afternoon.
The Eastern half: Partly cloudy to cloudy and cold to very cold with scattered showers of rain with snow on the high ground.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Fresh to strong south-westerly.
Temperature: Fine in the west first, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool to cold but very cold in places in the south-western high grounds. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected but isolated in the north-west
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly becoming strong to near gale in places at times
