FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

A. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Dawid Kruiper and Kai !Garib Local Municipalities and northern parts of the Namakwa Distric Municipality of Northern Cape as well as the Matzikama Local Munici- pality of the Western Cape.

ADVISORIES:

A. A heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the Richtersveld Municipality of Northern Cape until Tuesday (29/08/2023).

Gauteng

Temperature: Fine and cool with morning fog over the southern parts

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Mpumalanga

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the east, otherwise fine and cool to warm with morning fog over the Highveld and escarpment. It will be cloudy over the Lowveld

Limpopo

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the north and south-eastern parts with drizzle and morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise fine and cool. It will be cloudy in the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley.

North West

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm

Free State

Temperature: Fine and cool

Northern Cape

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, but hot to very hot in the extreme west. Dust storms are expected over the north-western parts.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.

Western Cape

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape

The Western half: Morning fog patches over the southern interior, otherwise fine and warm, but cool in places along the coast.

The Western half – The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly.

The Eastern half: Morning fog patches south of the escarpment, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the north-east at first, otherwise fine and cool.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly north of Mtunzini at first, otherwise moderate to fresh north-easterly
