Weather warnings issued

The SAWS has issued a Yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rainfall, which could cause localised flooding in informal settlements, low-lying roads, and bridges in the Vhembe and Mopani Districts of Limpopo, as well as the Ehlanzeni District of Mpumalanga.

Poor driving conditions may also be expected due to pooling of water on roads and reduced visibility.

In addition, the north-eastern parts of the Vhembe District of Limpopo are under an Orange level 5 warning for disruptive rainfall, which could result in flooding of roads and settlements, as well as posing a danger to life due to fast-flowing streams.

Take necessary precautions

It is important to take necessary precautions during these warnings to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

Avoid driving through flooded areas; if caught in a flash flood, seek higher ground immediately.
