FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the !Kheis, Dawid Kruiper, Kai !Garib, Joe Morolong, Khai-Ma and Hantam in the Northern Cape.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy by the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to cool with isolated thundershowers in the Lowveld and escarpment areas.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers in the Lowveld and escarpment areas, as well as the Limpopo Valley.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme east.

Free State:

Temperature: Morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers along the Lesotho border.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Fine and hot to very hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east parts, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-east. It will be extremely hot in the extreme northern parts.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy with morning fog patches over the south-western parts, otherwise fine and warm but hot over the interior and very hot in places in the northeast.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly but easterly along the south coast becoming strong in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Cloudy with fog patches in places in the south at first, otherwise fine and hot, but warm along the coast.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be light northerly, becoming moderate easterly east of Cape St Francis, and light southwesterly in the west.

The Eastern half – Cloudy with fog patches in places south of the escarpment at first, otherwise fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy over the interior, with isolated thunderstorms along the escarpment and over the Winterberg area.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, but light at first.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the southwest and the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to southwesterly in the north, otherwise north-easterly spreading to Cape St Lucia in the evening.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
