Why you should stay here: The ultimate accommodation for the eco-tourist, !Xaus Lodge in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park offers unique accommodation for visitors. The !Xaus complex is made up of a central lodge building and 12 individual chalets, each with its own deck overlooking an incredible, vast salt pan. Each unit sleeps four people and the lodge’s dining area also overlooks the pan with fantastic views. 

How much does it cost: R2500 per adult sharing (South African & SADC Residents), with standard rates at R5 375 per adult sharing.

Why you should stay here: Just 30 metres from the Indian Ocean, The Santos Express Train Lodge is as unique as unique accommodation gets! The Lodge allows you to sleep in an actual train in rooms with mountain or sea views. Choose from either a basic compartment, honeymoon caboose or luxury suite.
