French flair in Franschhoek

Not too far (about 75km) from Cape Town, the beautifully serene town of Franschhoek is the perfect spot to visit this Easter weekend, and the drive there is nothing to complain about! Picture majestic mountains, rolling hills and fresh countryside air that’ll have you thinking you’re in the French countryside.

The area is dotted with vineyards, original Cape Dutch farmhouses and some of South Africa’s finest restaurants. And there are plenty of things to see and do once you get there.

Take a wine tram tour, visit some of the South Africa’s best vineyards for some wine tasting or visit the motor museum!

Get lost in Wilderness

One of South Africa and the Western Cape’s most popular and beautiful regions is the Garden Route and it makes for the perfect road trip this Easter weekend. The area offers big cities and small towns that wow in so many departments and one such town is gorgeous Wilderness.

Sandwiched between the larger city of George and Knysna, the little town boasts a variety of adventure activities and Instagram-worthy lookout spots – and the trip there is nothing short of beautiful!

The drive along the N2 is just over 400km and passes along other quaint towns and cities to stop and explore.

‘Come get your road trip view on Route 62’

You’ve heard of the famous American Route 66, which links Chicago and Los Angeles – but did you know that South Africa has its very own version?

You’ll be able to ‘get your kicks’ and more along this 850km-long road trip that runs along picturesque, hidden-treasure wineland and farming towns like Worcester, Tulbagh, Wellington, Montagu, Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp, to name just a few.

The route connects Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, making it the perfect length for a longer road trip over the long Easter weekend.
