The heaviest deadlift is 501 kg (1,104.5 lb), and was achieved by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Iceland) at Thor’s Power Gym, Kópavogur, Iceland, on 2 May 2020.
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson famed for not only his incredible strength but also his role as ‘The Mountain’ in Game of Thrones, completed a staggering 501 kg deadlift, in an attempt sanctioned by the Worlds Ultimate Strongman. Hafþór aka ‘Thor’ beat Eddie Hall’s 2016 500 kg deadlift by 1 kg, however Eddie’s lift remains the heaviest ever in strongman competition.
