The longest line of pie slices measures 2,371.20 m (7,779 ft 6 in) and was achieved by S.C. Carrefour Romania S.A. (Romania) in Bucarest, Romania, on 4 October 2018.
The apple pie made is a traditional Romanian dessert called placinta cu mere, which has an apple pie filling with cinnamon and sugar.
This year Romania celebrates the 100th year of existence and Carrefour Romania wanted to present a Romanian local product made with local raw ingredients to celebrate. The dough was made by local eggs, flour, sugar and apples. The pie was baked by 11 Romanian Carrefour Hypermarkets and Directors of their Fresh Produce Departments were invited to the attempt from across the world.
