Stellenbosch introduces Restaurant Month

The beautiful University town of Stellenbosch, with its’ award-winning wine farms, noteworthy history and fantastic food scene, has just launched a new culinary offering in the area, and it’s sure to get foodies abuzz. Restaurant Month, based on the ever-popular Restaurant Week that Cape Town celebrates each year, will run for the whole of August and will allow foodies to enjoy all the culinary delights that Stellenbosch has to offer.

Taste Stellenbosch Food & Wine’ is the name of the campaign and diners, visitors and foodies will have a whole month to discover the delicious offerings of the town – while taking advantage of fantastic deals and specials at a wide variety of local restaurants.

Jeanneret Momberg, who is the CEO of Visit Stellenbosch, says that they were overjoyed to launch this month-long celebration of food, good times and the generous hospitality that one can only find in Stellies.

“There’s something to appeal to every visitor, every taste and every budget – from fine dining and bistro chic to casual fare and cosy farm restaurants.” Momberg said.

Visit Stellenbosch also recently launched their ‘Stay Stellenbucks’ campaign, an initiative that forms part of the town’s Stay and Play campaign, which is a collaboration between tourism stakeholders and private donors like Stellenbosch University, Capitec, Remgro, Investec, Mergon, and auditing company LDP.

According to Travel News, Momberg encourages visitors to take advantage of the Stay Stellenbucks winter campaign, where they can book and stay for four consecutive nights from 4-11 August, and get double Stellenbucks to a maximum value of R2 400. The Stellenbucks can then be used to pay for meals, wine and experiences at participating Stay Stellenbucks partners.
